In a season when oblivious Nelsonia succumbed yet again to the corporate propaganda of the militaristic unCanadian nonPacific Kansas City railroad goons who persecute our poor disenfranchised citizens in league with the Nelsonia Police State and carelessly kills dozens of bears all across the country year-round when they’re not fooling the public with their Holiday Train deception, and one out of three Beastly BC citizens cannot afford Xmas gifts for their families, the Queen Consort City’s Dark Star continues to stand out as a media mouthpiece for the Nelsonia Police State and the pro-business bozo agenda of Shitty Hall while pretending to represent all of its readers.

The latest examples of the Oak Bay media baron’s uncivil oligarchic misinformation at a local level involve their disgraceful recent article which parroted the Creep of Police’s fascistic party line and spelled out the industrial thugs’ self-centred defensiveness, while never asking the racist department with its anti-Indigenous white male power misdeeds what they thought about the probably valid sexual assault complaint against one of its misogynistic officers that was dismissed due to a bogus timeliness technicality, even though “the Human Rights Code states complaints can still be filed after the time limit expires if accepting the complaint is determined to be in the public interest”. Sycophantic reporter Tyler (Kowtow) Harder who knows what side his bread is buttered on did the usual Dark Star jingoistic “access journalism” dance which sucks up as usual to the armed gunmen who most likely committed exactly what they were accused of without any pushback or followup questions in the slightest to the Creep of Police’s self-satisfied pile of crap.

As the victim’s mother stated, all her daughter “ever wanted from the police was an apology for their behaviour towards her, but when they refused to apologize or learn from their mistakes, the complaint process was begun. It’s very sad and frustrating that the Nelson Police Department has chosen to follow such an expensive and hostile process, rather than simply apologize and learn from their mistakes”. Could boot-licker Harder be bothered to ask the Creepy Police why they couldn’t even deign to issue an apology? No, of course not, and then he and the unapologetic pigs wonder why without asking the right questions that, “sexual assaults are rarely reported to police (with a) Statistics Canada survey in 2019 finding that 94 per cent of Canadians aged 15 and older who experienced a sexual assault did not speak with police after the incident”.

The victim’s mother says it best about the Dark Star’s aristocratic proselytizing when she writes in a followup letter, “the article in the Nelson Star last week about the human rights complaint made on behalf of my daughter Olivia Bean was written without having seen all the evidence. This is because it was based on letters and statements that parrot the Nelson Police Department’s bias. At every stage of the complaints process we have been censored, silenced, and not allowed to share evidence”. Did it occur to Harder or his kiss-the-ring editors to inquire in the slightest about “the five hours of disgusting video evidence that clearly shows Sgt. Holt denying Olivia the restraining order that she was begging for, making statements that normalize sexual assault, and suggesting that Olivia’s gender transition was the real problem”, or why “the BC Human Rights Tribunal never looked at this video, or even the transcript of the video (when) they made their decision based on police statements instead”?

A similar example of the Dark Star’s complicit conservative leanings came last week when it reported a quote by Councillor Log-Bump about why Shitty Council went “all lives matter” with their useless neutral ceasefire letter in which Ricky-boy dropped a little tidbit that informed his decision-making in which he described several “Israeli Canadians living in Nelson who are expressing fear that as they move into Hanukkah, fear about putting a menorah in the window, and I’ve seen that that reason is not unfounded”. Could reporter Billy Madcalf find it within him to ask the obvious question about what Councillor Bumpy Log knows, and who it is that’s threatening our citizens? Longtime readers of the Dark Star know the answer is no, and this comes after another article wherein no-one thought to ask local Jewish voters why they have been unable to publicize their meetings and services due to threats and intimidating persecution. Don’t the taxpayers of the White Heritage City deserve to know why Jewish folks are feeling scared and terrified in a christo-fascist haven of WASPy cliques who can’t even host a Christmas event outside on their own?
